Upon entering Songbird, you might be enchanted by the homey vibes that envelop you. The space is reminiscent of an old house, featuring various cozy nooks perfect for enjoying a book or engaged conversation. It’s no wonder visitors like Robert Monahan have dubbed it a “rare gem” among the “overdone” spots of Phoenix. He particularly sings praises for the Macha Chai (Spicy) Latte enhanced with CBD—a bohemian drink that is right at home in this quaint space. Others echo similar sentiments, noting their favorite selections, from the lavender English black tea to the perfectly balanced cappuccinos and lattes.
Songbird also caters to a palate that appreciates hearty breakfast options. With offerings like breakfast burritos, chia pudding, and the delectable bacon breakfast burrito, there’s something to satisfy every breakfast craving. The homemade mocha flavoring has quickly become a fan favorite, complementing sweet treats such as the vegan lemon poppy scone that even skeptics claim is the best they've ever tried.
Beyond just beverages and bites, the ethos of Songbird extends to its friendly service. Staff members are described as quick and kind, eager to guide newcomers through the extensive menu, whether you're in the mood for something spicy or sweet. As Chelsea Choe notes, the baristas take the time to ensure your experience is delightful and personalized, enhancing the overall experience of your visit.
The outdoor seating area, often adorned with fluttering birds, adds a serene touch, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends or simply absorb the local charm. With convenient parking options and a selection of pastries to nibble on as you sip, Songbird Coffee & Tea House is truly a must-visit destination within Phoenix. Whether you’re popping in for a quick chat or looking to spend the afternoon immersed in the atmosphere, this delightful establishment surely won’t disappoint. Mark your calendars and prepare for a flavorful journey at Songbird!

I travel quite a bit for work and having grown up in NYC, always look for small businesses to support. In the middle of a part of Phoenix that is “overdone” Songbird is a rare gem. It has amazing art district, Brooklyn-esque vibes and I wish I were staying longer so I could come back. The Macha Chai (Spicy) Latte with some CBD was to die for. If you’re in Phoenix and you enjoy coffee, tea, breakfast burritos, chia pudding, cool places, and amazing cookies.. look no further. In addition, I wrote the NYC chocolate guides under the name “Professor Chocolate”.. and will say that the homemade mocha flavoring is incredible (my wife got the mocha with a PB cookie).

Super calm and homey vibes. The atmosphere felt clean and comforting. If I didn’t have somewhere to be I could have stayed all day with a nice book. I got a cranberry muffin and a cappuccino. Both were freshly made and hit the spot. Service was quick and kind. I wish i saw the cat that is clearly a fan favorite. :) I will be back next time I visit Phoenix again!

Such an adorable place in the middle of a big city! Their hot tea selection was amazing... I strongly recommend the lavender English black tea. My husband enjoyed the iced chocolate mocha Also loved their bacon breakfast burrito and the gluten-free peanut butter cookie!

I love the atmosphere it is very calm and compose. I went with cappuccino which was perfectly balanced and so smooth. Second I went with latte which was also good and their bakery item super star breakfast cookie I loved it must try

Things you should know: I. PARKING 1 hour free parking at a nearby garage (E Pierce St in the Skyline Lofts Retail parking) or parallel street parking, metered. II. SERVICE The barista will explained the menu well if you have questions. I like that they give the option of spicy vs sweet Chai; I haven't encountered that elsewhere. III. QUALITY The lemon poppy scone (vegan) is SO good and deceptively tastes buttery! My husband claims it's the best scone he's ever had. IV. CAPACITY There's indoor and outdoor seating available. We typically like to sit under the canopy of trees outside since those seats seem to be more readily available.

I really enjoyed this little coffee shop. It's in an old house so it's of course super cute and cozy inside. There is a large amount of seating outside, including a swing on the front porch. Living up to its name, there were several birds on the patio while I was out there. The servers were friendly and my order came out quickly despite it being busy. I don't like coffee so I can't speak to that but their tea menu is big! They have lots of white, black, green and herbal teas to choose from. The prices were good. I ordered a small and it was a little bigger than I was expecting. They also have a small selection of pastries and a few other things like snack boxes and breakfast burritos. I definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the area and want a drink, snack, or cute place to chill for awhile. There is a small parking lot in the back with about 10 spaces including a handicapped spot and also a few street parking spaces in the front.

I came here three years ago on a trip to Phoenix and it was the first place I came when I returned. This cafe is the cutest. The coffee is great, I got mine with oat milk and the oat milk was good. The interior is very charming, with different little nooks to sit in. There’s also some merch including t shirts, tote bags and stickers. This place is just so full of charm. I’ll be sure to come again on my next visit.

Had a very positive experience. The cafe is located in an older house in downtown, and has a charming/hipster aesthetic. Ordered a muffin and two lattes. Everything was delicious. The chai has a nice kick to it if you get the spiced, and the matcha has a hearty flavor. The muffin was fresh and delicious, and not too sweet. Would recommend. We plan to return and continue to experience the rest of the menu.
